Well, Maddie's First birthday was a great success and lots of fun! On the 21st (her actual b-day) Jay and I gave her our presents and she had a cupcake of her very own. That was great to watch. She insisted on sharing with us...you will see in the pictures! On saturday the 23rd we had a party for her. Lots of family and friends joined the celebration. We had good food, water balloons, pool play, and more! Maddie loved cake time! I want to thank everyone for all her wonderful gifts. She now has an entire summer wardrobe and is stocked and ready for the beach as well! She got some great toys for a girl "her age"!!! It was unforgetable for sure!
We are amazed at all the wonderful changes that we have seen in Maddie over the last year. We are constantly stirring up old memories of when she was a newborn. She went from having a sponge bath on the couch to swimming in the bath tub. She went from eating watered down rice cereal to eating cheese quesadillas and ravioli. She went from #1 diapers to #4 diapers. It all seems so fast really. At times, I feel like I miss that little baby, but I am so happy to have my little independent, crawling, sippy cup drinking, no longer spitting up, 1 year old!!! Guess I'll just have to have another baby to satisfy my "craving" !!!!! Haha! In time...In time!
Well, it was a wonderful year and we can only hope the next year to come and all the years ahead are just as blessed!
Congratulations go out to Maddie!!! She now has 5 teeth! I bet tooth #6 will be showing up any day now!
So...Maddie has a "few" (yes, more than one) more teeth trying so hard to push through. We can see her poor gums bulging, but it doesnt seem to be affecting her, yet! She is such a delight always, but these days we have really been noticing all the little things that she has learned. She just seems to be growing up so fast. I guess it true..."they do grow up so fast!" We went shopping for birthday party stuff for her very first birthday "ever"....oh my goodness!
Jay is really coming along with Maddie's playset. He hopes to have it finished for her party, but Im not holding my breath. Jay has a "guys" camping/climbing trip coming up, so he wont have alot of time to finish. It looks great so far though.
Maddie officially loves the swimming pool. We went swimming twice last weekend and she proved to be quite the "water baby"!!! We are glad! We bought her a very cool floatie with a canopy for sun protection and she also has a sun shade tent for the poolside/beach etc...! She is sooo freakin' cute in her little 2 peice. We were against a 2 peice at first before we realized that it would be a lot easier than trying to change her swimmers with a one peice on. Good advice, for sure! Hopefully we can get pictures from the pool uploaded soon. We got some cute ones!
Well, Maddie will soon be one and we are just looking forward to all the amazing parts of being parents to a "toddler"!!!!!! We'll keep in touch!
