Well, Maddie did remarkably well on the trip to Kentucky. We stopped ever so often to get her out of her seat for awhile so the trip up took longer than we would have liked. Maddie seemd to really enjoy her visit with Granna and Papa. She also got to spend time with here uncle Jim and Aunt Lori who joined us for the holiday and she met lots of other family. Her aunt Kelsey was quite smitten with her!
Maddie saw her first xmas tree and opened her first xmas gifts. She loved chewing on the pretty wrapping paper!!! She tasted mashed potatoes and whipped cream. She also tasted some green peas but didnt care for those one bit! She had a bath in the kitchen sink and was surrounded by no less than 3 dobermans at a time. It was a great visit but we are happy to be home.
Maddie is now slowing weaning from breastmilk. It is something that I have thought about ALOT. I commited myself to 6 month so she has less than a month to go now. I do look forward to sleeping on my belly again and hopefully fitting into my pretty bras again..haha!! I know breastmilk is best but I was formula fed and I think turned out pretty darn good.
Well, we hope everyone had a great thanksgiving holiday and make sure to look for a xmas card in the mail soon!
....
This year we are spending Thanksgiving in Kentucky with Jays mom and step family. The trip will be long with a 5 month old, but we will make it just fine, I hope! This will be Maddies first trip!!! We are going to have to stop a few times to let her stretch and what not. I hope she is okay with it all!
I will let you all know how it goes...Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!!!
Well, Maddie has eaten several fruits and a couple of vegetables so far. She seems to like just about everything. Her favorites are banana's, I think and her least favorite.....carrots! She is so cute and growing up sooo fast. She will be 5 months old in a few days(21st)! She has slept throught the night for awhile now. Her internal clock seems to wake her up at 6-6:30 in the morning even on weekends but she will go back to sleep after a bottle on saturday and sunday. She loves her sleep! She talks to us all the time, kicks us, and pinches us. It really hurts but it's neat to see her using her limbs.
Jay got a new truck this past tuesday evening. He is in love with it, I think! He has been stewing over a name for "her"! It is pretty darn nice, so...!
Well, the nonstop holiday music started playing around here the day after Halloween so, I guess its time to go shopping. Im sure some of you have shopped already or may even be done! Good for you! I started my holiday shopping last week some time. It feels good really. I hope to order alot of stuff this year to save my sanity. The malls are ridiculous this time of year, but we all know that.
Well, take care and more later......
Well, I guess Missy knows me all too well. I always do blog about my trips don't I? Anyway, we had a blast. A co-worker and I met Phil and ultimately a couple of his buddies at Linville Gorge. The plan was to have a full weekend of climbing and camping fun. We got there Friday afternoon/early evening and setup camp. We then woke up to beautiful weather, it was sunny and warm. Very nice climbing weather; at least for the time being. Saturday afternoon became cloudy and we heard thunder off into the distance. After we ate dinner, Chris (my co-worker) and I decided to head back up to camp before we got trapped in the storm. Trying to hike up a mountain with gear on your back, in the dark, and in the rain is not very easy (or fun for that matter). Once we made it back to camp, the wind started. I bet you we had hurricane force winds blowing our camp like sheets on a clothes line. I normally put plastic over the roof of my tent as a precautionary measure....that lasted about an hour. My tent caved in on me repeatedly under the pressure of the wind and as soon as the gust stopped, it would pop right back up. Sunday morning, we assessed the damage. I ended up with a piece of plastic that was shreaded, my rain-fly that covers my tent was ripped, and one of my fiberglass tent poles was shattered. I got about 3 hours worth of sleep the entire time because of the stuff going on with my tent. It was pretty scary....good times, good times.
Until next time.
Jay has left for another guy trip to the mountains. Im sure he is going to have a great time. He has been so excited about it for the last month or so. He hasnt called yet but considering he has no phone reception, Im not expecting a goodnight call!
Maddie has been sound asleep for about 45minutes now and I am going to attempt to clean up around the house. Jay says I clean too much,,,probably. I like cleanliness...what can I say?!
Well, Im sure Jay will blog his experience when he returns. Until then....
Well, Maddie is now a close to 4 and a half months old. Her 4 month check up went very well. She took those shots like a trooper! She has really taken a liking to baby food, especially pears and bananas. She also really likes her juice but has decided to stop nursing with me!! BOO HOO!!! I am not going to give up though. I will try a few more times but of course, I will continue to give her breastmilk in her bottles.
Her first Halloween was great. She was the most adorable bumble bee I have EVER seen and she seemed to enjoy trick or treating with her cousins...one house even gave her a peice of candy!!! We ate it, she didnt!
Maddie now chews and sucks on her toes alot, especially in the bathtub and when she is having her diaper changed. It is so cute. The weather is getting cold so we bought Maddie an adorable hat with ear flaps...haha! Love it! She knows she's cute!
Anyway, we hope everyone is doing well and we will update you as we can!
