Update...

Well, Jay and I went away with out Maddie for the first time saturday morning until sunday evening. We went to Wiliiamsburg, Virginia. We had a great time but it was really hard to leave Maddie at first. We called a few times but didnt go overboard!! Maddie was happy to see us return and we raced to the front door to see who got to hold her first! I won!!!
Turns out that Maddie has gotten impedigo a.k.a. infintigo. It is a skin infection that started out as a simple rash. She has been on antibiotic cream for the last week and it seems to be working really well. The doctor also thinks that she has pretty sensitive skin too! She goes back tomorrow for her 4 month check up. I have LOTS of questions!!!
Well, Jay is getting very excited about his upcoming "guys only" camping and climbing trip to the mountains in mid November. He is all set, I think. You never know really. He likes camping amd climbing stuff just as much as I like purses and baby clothes these days!
We hope everyone is doing well and more later.....

Busy days...

It seems like so much has been happening. Last weekend we celebrated Tana's 30th birthday with dinner and then the "girls" went out together!! It was a blast!!
For those of you who didnt know...Jay decided not to leave his current job. He was actually given a promotion complete with his very own assistant (who he still has to hire)!! He is very happy with his decision to stay.
Jay and I are going on our first "away without Maddie" trip this saturday. We are going to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg and are staying there that night. I agreed to one night but not more! I will miss her ALOT but I am also excited.
Maddie is doing great. She is such a little person already. She smiles ALL the time and is playing alot more lately. Her friend Miliah has let her borrow some really great activity centers that she just loves. Thanks Miliah! She still sleeps so great through the night. We have started to feed her some baby food. She has had pears and sweet potatoes so far as well as apple and pear juice. There may be no benefit to eating already but we figure it wont hurt her either. One thing that has started to concern us is a rash that she has developed along her face under her chin. We just assumed it was a drool rash but it just has been getting worse and worse. She now has a rash on the back on her head as well. We assumed that was from the back of her head rubbing on everything since she doesnt hold it up on her own all the time yet. Either way, I made an appointment for tomorrow to have it checked out. I will keep you all informed! Other than that, Maddie is doing fantastic and she continues to make us smile EVERY day!!!

More later...

I know...I know!

Well, Maddie had rice cereal for the first time this past friday. We have been hearing so many things from people about her needing more to eat so we thought we would try it. Im not sure if she needs it or not but we figured it certainly wouldnt hurt her. Apparently Jay and I both were having rice cereal by the age of 6-8 weeks! So far she seems to not mind it. Right now she only has one tablespoon once a day and she has some apple juice once a day also.
She is becoming such a big girl. She has gotten herself back into her 8-9 hour sleeping routine!!!!! Thats great for us. She actually slept for almost 10 hours last night, slept about another hour and a half in bed with me and woke up to be fed before going back to sleep for another hour and a half. Maybe she is trying to make up for some lost sleep at some point!?
She is doing very well at my grandma's house everyday. She takes naps pretty well...my grandma is trying to get her used to napping in her crib but that doesnt always work! She definatly knows her Gammie and Poppie are now!
We have a very busy weekend planned. Two of my neices, my nephew, my uncle, and my big sister Tana ( I call her that) are all having a birthday. So, there are parties to attend!!! Zina is also having a birthday so we hope to make some time to see her as well.
We hope everyone is as blessed as we are. More later....
