HAPPY BIRTHDAY MADDIE!!!! Today she is 1 month old! My, how time flies!!!!
Sunday July 16th, Maddie's cord fell off. She officially has a belly button. It's so cute and small. She also sucked her thumb for the first time although she hasnt done it since so I dont think she has already become a thumb sucker!! Maddie is also doing her very best to hold her head up by herself. She actually has been doing that since the day she was born but, she has yet to give up. She's getting really good at it!
She goes back to the doctor on the 28th for her 1 month although she will be 1 month this friday, the 21st!!!! Time flies when your having fun. She had another great night last night. She was asleep by 10:30 and she slept until 3:30. Thats pretty good. She is normally waking up around 2!!!! She woke up again around 6:30 instead of her usual 5, so thats great too. Then she slept in bed with me again until 9...GO MADDIE!!!!!
Well, mommy and maddie had there first week home alone..together! I believe it was pretty successful. Monday and Tuesday were great. Wednesday and Thursday were a bit harder. She was quite fussy and we think she has alot of gas sometimes. Poor thing!
Today we went to Kin (my work) to visit the teachers and kids. They were very happy to have us there. Then we had lunch with grandma ( my mom) and headed back home. The day has been great.
Maddie has been doing very well at night....thank the good lord!!!! She falls asleep easily and sleeps for about 3 hours or more so, she wakes up normally around 2 times but, not for long. Just long enough for a diaper change and feeding!!
We are so excited about seeing her learn things and watching her grow but, I know when it happens, we will miss how she is now. We love her so much and our family loves her so much. We are really blessed. I'll never stop thinking that.
Madison is doing fantastic!! Of course, we have and will have our share of more difficult days and nights but, overall she is doing wonderful. It seems like she has sorta put herself on an every 3 hour schedule through out the night. That has worked out for us so far. Jay and I are very good at sharing the load!!
Today was Jays first day back at the office so me and Maddie were all alone together and we had a great day. She didnt sleep much. Im not sure if that is good or bad but she was very calm and it was nice to be able to hold her and look into her eyes. Of course, as soon as daddy got home he grabbed Maddie and told her he missed her. Im sure he did!
We are a little concerned about her belly button. The area seems to be infected but we arent really sure. According to other mothers that we have talked to, what we are seeing is normal. I guess we will find out. She goes back to the pediatrician the last week of July and I go back for a check up a few days later.
Jays mom and stepdad Alex were here this past weekend visiting. They had never seen Maddie before. You can imagine how excited and delighted they were. We had a great visit but, I think it was hard for them to leave her after such a short trip. We will see them in November though for thanksgiving so...!
Well, thats all for now. We hope everyone is enjoying the pictures of Maddie. Jay is going to be very busy with side projects pretty soon so, it may take some time for more pictures of Maddie to get uploaded. Be patient though and we will deliver!!!
We have had 7 nights at home so far with Maddie and I think we are on the right track!! The past 2 nights have been wonderful. We have gotten about 7-8 hours of sleep all together. She wakes up for about an hour around 3 or 4 . We change her diaper, feed her, and lull her back to sleep. Its working out so far but I dont want to say too much because I know how quickly things can change.
So far, Maddie has gone out to a restaurant, gone for a walk(stroll), had lots of visitors, and been to walmart. She just snoozes away in her carseat.
Jay starts work again on monday but atleast he will be working from home for the week. He will be here to help if needed but technically he wont "be here"!! Those are Jay's words. Im nervous about being solely responsible for Maddie during the day, especially when Jay really goes back to work. Im nervous that I wont be able to calm her down or make her feel better when she's upset. Jay is so perfect with her. I will try everything to make her feel better but all Jay has to do is hold her!! I guess she is a daddy's girl right now. Just wait until its just me and her though. I'll get her vote!!!! Haha!!
Anyway, we are so excited and blessed to have her and wish that everyone had the chance to see her in person. Make sure to check her album for new pictures. Jay is quite trigger happy with the camera....do you blame him though...she is gorgeous!!
