Well, it has been a while since I last posted so here goes. Madison Kathryn Almers has finally decided to make her entrance. Actually, she was dragged out kicking and screaming...quite literally. Missy had a cesarian section and on Wednesday June 21, 2006 at 12:00 noon, Maddie was born. She weighed in at 9 pounds 7 ounces and measured 21 inches long. Both mom and baby are doing awesome.
She is now home and we have survived the first two nights here. Saturday night was a bit strenuous as she screamed from 11pm to 4am non-stop. She cried so much, her little voice became hoarse. Ended up being a killer case of gas which we couldn't get rid of. Last night was much better. After her second feeding of the night, she slept for about 5 hours. This was GREAT considering what we went through the night before. I think we have the nursing down now, so hopefully things should continue to progress nicely.
She had her first appointment with the pediatician this morning which went very well. She had dropped to 8lb. 9oz. at the hospital which was cause for additional attention and she has a bit of jaundice (spelling?). Both of which are normallizing nicely, she now weighs 8lb. 15oz. and we should know how her jaundice is doing later this afternoon.
